Video Diary - Day 6


Running sucked!


 

All right, welcome to Day 6. A little frustrating evening today. I just ran for the first time in seven weeks and I was only running a 3K. Supposed to be nice and slow and I really struggled. Was running the same pace that I ran my half marathons at seven weeks ago, and my heart rate was through the roof. My heart was honestly about to beat out of my chest.


So a bit of a shock really. I thought I'd cruise through three kilometres, just getting my legs back under me when I ran 2 hal fmarathons just 7 weeks ago and 8 weeks ago. So I'm really unhappy about that. Obviously. It's amazing how much you can fall in seven weeks, really. Massive shock to the system, but I'll get it back.


I'm sure it'll come back. It's like anything, I hope I have this... almost muscle memory. I'm sure if I just keeping consistent with my training over the next month, and obviously dropping some weight as well - I should be able to get back to where I was, but still just a little bit of a shock to the system.


Other than that, I had an interesting day today because I went out to eat for the first time, brought my dogs for a walk along one of the nicest places in Marbella, and sat down for a coffee and a look at a menu and had a club sandwich which was pretty good. It was probably the best thing I could choose on the menu.


It's not ideal going out to eat, but I think I chose well but it just meant the rest of the day I'm kind of being very limited in what I've been able to eat. So I've been snacking on some chicken breast pieces and some ham slices, which allow me to make sure I hit my calories today. I am still going to be able to have a good dinner later. I want to be at least a little bit more normal on this journey than I was on the last one where it was just cooking everything myself, everything from the supermarket for seven and a half months. This time I've got a girlfriend and I want to enjoy my life with her as much as I can while as part of this weight loss journey and just lead a more kind of normal life.


Glad I got through it. I did nab three or four chips off her plate... it was max 10. It was max 10 chips. And anyway, they were accounted for because I always overestimate my calories. So I think my club sandwich was somewhere around 550-600 calories and I think I put 650 in just to account for the extra chips. Also had an nice latte and then that was it. So that was my day today, got my run in. It was day off from the gym, but in my head I want to have no days off from exercise. And yeah, that's kind of it.
